Jon Ivar Ekker

Jon Ivar Ekker has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Jon Ivar is currently the President International Business at Solplanet since February 2023. Prior to this, they were the Chief Commercial Officer at Oxford PV from November 2019 to January 2023.

Before joining Oxford PV, Ekker worked at SMA Solar Technology AG, where they held multiple executive positions. Jon Ivar served as the Executive Vice President Global Service Operations from March 2016 to October 2019. From March 2013 to February 2016, they were the Executive Vice President of the Zeversolar Division. Before that, they held the role of Executive Vice President of Hybrid Energy Systems from August 2012 to February 2013. Ekker also served as the Vice President of Corporate Development from July 2010 to July 2012 and as a Program Manager Operations from April 2009 to June 2010 at SMA Solar Technology AG.

Prior to joining SMA Solar Technology AG, Ekker worked at Siemens Wind Power as the Head of Manufacturing Plant from July 2007 to March 2009. Jon Ivar also worked at Siemens as the Director of Oil & Gas Service Sales from November 2004 to March 2007. Additionally, they co-founded Biotrack in August 2003 and served as a Graduate Trainee and Project Manager at Siemens from October 2002 to May 2004.

Jon Ivar Ekker obtained their Master's degree in Industrial Economics and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 1997 and 2002. Jon Ivar also pursued studies in Business at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne's HEC Lausanne in 2000 to 2001. Additionally, they briefly studied Computer Science at the Technische Universität Graz during the year 2000.
