Michael Dickson has over 15 years of work experience in the field of systems engineering. From 2001 to 2015, they held various roles in the U.S. Navy. Michael began their career as Operations Officer on the USS Pearl Harbor, where they led a department of 6 officers and over 40 enlisted personnel during two Western Pacific deployments and multiple exercises. Michael then moved to the USS Cleveland as Executive Officer, where they directed all administrative and tactical aspects of a major amphibious warship and led a 350 man crew through multiple demanding deployments and exercises. In 2003, they were appointed Force Protection Officer - Senior Watch Officer at Amphibois Squadron Five, where they developed and implemented the Expeditionary Strike Group Three's wartime Force Protection certification plan. Michael then moved to Tactical Training Group Pacific in 2005, where they held the role of Amphibious Warfare Instructor and Mentor. Here, they developed and implemented custom amphibious briefs for over 8 uniquely tailored courses. In 2007, they were appointed Operations Officer on the USS Bonhomme Richard, where they led a department of 8 officers and over 110 enlisted personnel during a Western Pacific deployment and multiple exercises. Michael then moved to Solute Consulting in 2014 as a Senior Systems Engineer, and then to SPAWAR Systems Center - Pacific in 2015, where they held the same role.
Michael Dickson received their BS in Management from Hawaii Pacific University between 1990 and 1992. Michael then went on to obtain an MS in MOVES from the Naval Postgraduate School between 1998 and 2000.
