François Monnet is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the fields of chemistry, biotechnology, and sustainable development. Currently serving as a Permanent Member of the Scientific Committee at CEA DRT since June 2021, François also holds several key positions including member of the CEFIC R&I Programme Council and Vice-President of the Board Of Directors at A.SPIRE. In addition, François contributes as a board member for both the Axelera competitiveness cluster and SUSCHEM Europe, while leading the "biobased chemical industry" working group under Nouvelle France Industrielle. As President of the Association Chimie du Végétal, François promotes plant-based chemistry within the bioeconomy. François has a long tenure at Solvay since 2000, where responsibilities include advanced technologies and global business unit management. François holds multiple advanced degrees from École Polytechnique and Paris-Sud University, demonstrating a strong educational foundation in engineering, physics, and computer science.
