Dandan Xu

Chief Scientific Officer at SolveBio

Dandan Xu is the current Chief Scientific Officer at SolveBio. Before joining SolveBio, Dandan Xu was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Weill Cornell Medical College from September 2008 to June 2010. There, they taught graduate-level Molecular Genetics and Fundamentals of Immunology courses, in addition to developing and teaching a genomics tutorial for first year immunology graduate students.

From March 2007 to February 2014, Dandan Xu worked as a Graduate Student at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Her focus was on prostate cancer biology, prostate secretions, genetic epidemiology and genomics.

Before their work at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dandan Xu was a Teaching Assistant at UC Riverside from September 2004 to March 2006. As a part of a pilot program of mandatory supplementary workshops accompanying general chemistry lectures, they taught 4 weekly general chemistry classes of 15-20 students. Dandan was promoted to Senior Discussion Leader in their second year, where they led a group of 6 undergraduate teachers in developing and disseminating chemistry curriculum to over 200 freshmen. Thanks to their efforts, the pass rate for General Chemistry increased, allowing the pilot program to expand to the entire general chemistry class, as well as other introductory math and science classes.

Dandan Xu attended the University of California, Riverside for their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dandan then went on to earn their Master of Science in Clinical Investigation from Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Cancer Biology & Genetics, Immunology & Microbial Pathogenesis from Cornell University.
