Philip Saumer

Scientist High Resolution Mass Spectrometry at Solvias

Philip Saumer has worked at Solvias as a Scientist High Resolution Mass Spectrometry since May 2023. Prior to Solvias, they were a PHD Student at Universität Konstanz from September 2018 to April 2023. In this role, they developed an affinity enrichment proteomics approach to investigate chromatin interactions, conducted biochemical assays to characterize interactors, and provided expertise in mass spectrometry sample preparation, method development, data acquisition, and data evaluation. Philip also gained hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience with UHPLC-Orbitrap MS systems. Before their time at Universität Konstanz, Philip had an internship as a Process Expert at Novartis from November 2017 to April 2018, where they worked on PU pre-filled syringes and liquid steriles.

Philip Saumer completed their education starting in 2004 at Marie-Curie-Gymnasium Kirchzarten, where they obtained their Abitur in an undisclosed field of study. Philip then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science at the University of Konstanz from 2013 to 2016. Following their undergraduate studies, Philip Saumer enrolled at the same university to pursue a Master of Science degree in Life Science, which they completed in 2019.
