Senior Engineer at Solvinity

Daniël de Koning has extensive work experience in various roles across different companies. Daniël started their career in 2011 as a Studentambassador and Studentassistant in Bioinformatics at Hogeschool Leiden. In 2013, they interned at Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica, where they worked on a project related to genetic algorithms and constraint-based modeling. From 2015 to 2015, Daniël interned at Erasmus MC, focusing on variant filtering methods and automation using Docker and Google BigQuery. In 2016, they joined Omnigen BV as a Bioinformatics Analyst and later became a Medior Bioinformatician, managing IT and Bioinformatics projects and supervising interns. At Universiteit Leiden, they worked as an Application Developer/Scientist, developing and maintaining the open-source project "Activity Browser" for Life Cycle Assessments. Currently, they are employed at Solvinity as a Python Developer and has recently been promoted to the role of Senior Engineer.

Daniël de Koning has a diverse education history. Daniël started their educational journey in 2004 at Petrus Canisius College, but it is not specified whether they obtained any degrees or fields of study from this institution. From 2007 to 2009, Daniël attended Inholland University of Applied Sciences, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry. Daniël then pursued further education at Hogeschool Leiden from 2010 to 2014, obtaining a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Bio-informatics. Later, they attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2014 to 2016 and completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Bioinformatics.

In addition to their formal education, Daniël has also acquired certifications from Google. In September 2018, they became an Associate Cloud Engineer, and in October 2018, they obtained the Professional Cloud Architect certification.
