René van Straaten

René van Straaten has had a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. René'smost recent role was as a Customer Engineer at Solvinity, where they joined in October 2015. Prior to that, they worked as an Oracle DBA at ASP4ALL Hosting b.v from October 2011 to September 2015.

Before joining ASP4ALL, René worked at Gemeente Delft, where they held multiple roles. René was an Oracle DBA from February 2007 to September 2011, contributing to the standardization of management practices and documentation. René also served as the Team Manager for the Technical team from August 2000 to February 2007, overseeing the operations of the IT department, including maintenance and installation tasks. Earlier in their career, René worked as an Oracle DBA and a System Engineer with Novell and IBM/AIX expertise.

René van Straaten has a diverse education history spanning several decades. In 1976, they attended Hugo Grotius for their secondary education. René went on to complete a MBO degree from an unspecified institution from 1981 to 1984. Starting in 1984, René pursued various ICT-related courses at Datapoint b.v, focusing on different Datapoint systems. From 1990 to 1993, they obtained training in AIX and Unix system V from AIX (at IBM) and Unix (at Siemens Nixdorff). René then pursued HBO (higher professional education) courses specifically related to Oracle DBA, from 1992 to 2007. During this time, they also acquired experience through diverse communication and management trainings, with a focus on communication, (verander) management, houding (attitude), and gedrag (behavior). In 2010, they undertook Oracle Administration part 1 at Transfer Solutions te Leerdam, specializing in Oracle Application Server. René further expanded their knowledge in Oracle-related fields by attending Red Hat Training Centre in 2011 for JBOSS. In 2012, they completed a basic course on Netezza Dataware House Appliance at InCase/IBM, followed by an advanced course on IBM Netezza Appliance Advanced Concepts at IBM/INCASE. Finally, René briefly attended StarTel Roden in 2016, specifically for MSSQL 2014 Administering.
