Wouter Verhulst began their education at Krimpenerwaard College from 1991 to 1993, where they obtained their VWO degree. Wouter then attended Revius Lyceum from 1994 to 1997, majoring in English, German, Physics, and Economics. Following this, Wouter enrolled at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1997 and studied Business for a year. From 1998 to 2000, they attended Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and pursued Business Informatics.

In addition to their formal education, Wouter Verhulst has also earned several certifications. Wouter obtained the Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft in January 2008. Later, in December 2013, they obtained the VMTSP 7 certification from Veeam Software. In June 2015, they achieved the VMTSP 8 certification from the same institution, as well as the VCP5-DCV certification from VMware. Lastly, in January 2016, Wouter gained the VTSP 2015 certification from VMware, followed by the VMTSP 2020 certification from Veeam Software in January 2021.
