Julia Murphy Aia

Julia Murphy AIA, LEED AP currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation, a position held since September 2024. Murphy has been a Partner and Director at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) since 2008, where project management responsibilities are also part of the role. Prior to joining SOM, Murphy worked as an architect at W Architecture & Landscape Architecture from August 2005 to August 2008. Julia Murphy holds a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, earned between 2000 and 2003, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English from Colgate University, obtained from 1996 to 1999.
