Rui Ding

Rui Ding is a Senior Architect at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) since November 2021, previously holding an Architect position at HDR from January 2017 to November 2021. Ding has extensive experience in a variety of projects in education, healthcare, civic, and science and technology, specializing in building envelope design and computational design. Responsibilities have included initiating and organizing virtual reality workflows, facilitating team coordination, developing BIM quality control procedures, and mentoring junior staff. Prior experience includes roles as Sr. Design Coordinator and Design Coordinator at MZA Architecture, where Rui utilized computational methods for facade design and engaged in project development in a competitive environment. Rui holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Architecture from Anhui University of Architecture.
