Yanwei Yang

Yanwei Yang is a Junior Designer and Junior Urban Designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) since August 2021. Prior to this role, Yanwei served as Vice President at ChinaGSD from April 2020 to September 2021 and worked as a Research Assistant at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, focusing on urbanization and E-commerce. Yanwei has significant research experience from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where contributions included testing reflector constructions and developing architectural details using interlocking plastic bottles. Yanwei's internship experience includes positions at HENN, where involvement in the Zhijiang Infinity Campus project took place, as well as roles at the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design on various educational and cultural projects, and early internship experience at Shandong Beige Architectural Design Co., Ltd. Yanwei earned a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, alongside an Associate of Arts from Green River College.
