Ryan Porter

Ryan Porter has worked in a variety of roles since 2013. Ryan started as a Summer Student at Safety Services New Brunswick, where they performed general office work, including working with the file room, redacting files, finding maps to complete files, and working with Excel. In 2014, they began working at South Shore Country Store as a Retail employee, where their duties included working at a cash register, cleaning, restocking shelves, and serving ice cream. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at Tim Hortons in Production. Most recently, they have been employed as a Python Developer at SomaDetect since 2017.

Ryan Porter's education history includes a GED from New Germany Rural High School, obtained between 2004 and 2010. Ryan then obtained an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick between 2010 and 2013. Following this, they obtained an Office Admin Certificate from NBCC (New Brunswick Community College) between 2014 and 2015. Most recently, they completed a data science specialization from Johns Hopkins University School of Education in 2016. Additionally, Ryan has obtained several certifications from Coursera in data science, including the Data Science Capstone, Data Science Specialization, Developing Data Products, Practical Machine Learning, Regression Models, Reproducible Research, Statistical Inference, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox.
