Established in 1936, Sommers is the leading Canadian manufacturer & distributor of premium quality generator systems for prime power, standby power and mobile applications. We also maintain the largest privately held inventory of rental generators in Canada!

We proudly offer more than 80 years of experience in power solutions.
Headquartered in picturesque Stratford, ON along with another location in beautiful Dieppe, NB, Sommers carries a large inventory of gas, diesel, propane, and natural gas models. Our generator systems offer up to 3200 kWe for prime power, standby power, as well as portable and towable applications.

Because we all have different power requirements, there is a generator out there for everyone but it can be confusing with so many options. Our team knows how to match your needs with those of your home/business, budget, power supply, and more. Whether it’s for agricultural, commercial, industrial or residential (home or cottage), we have something for you.

Not only do we sell commercial and residential generators, we are also equipped with an impressive array of diesel-powered generators for short and long-term rentals with up to 1000 kWe of power alongside a full range of motors, transfer switches, accessories, and other generator parts.

Our sales team is made up of electrical engineers that understand the needs of our clients and set out to find the most effective and efficient solution. In the book we refer to the largest inventory of rental generators in a private fleet in Canada.

Downtime is never a good time and to that end, our team of licensed electricians and mechanics have the know-how and expertise to keep disruptions to the bare minimum.

We pride ourselves on taking care of everything from A to Z so we don’t just stop with the machines and have an incredibly knowledgeable and talented team for after sale service, support and our 365/24/7 Emergency Response Team so we’re always by your side.
