Robert Hanna has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Robert started their career at Destroyer Squadron FOURTEEN as a Submarine Liaison Officer from 1997 to 1999. Robert then moved to the Submarine Development Squadron 12 Tactical Analysis Group, where they served as the Executive Officer from 1999 to 2002 and later as the Director of Publications from 2003 to 2005. Robert also served as the Executive Officer aboard the USS BOISE (SSN 764) from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, Robert joined the Office of Secretary of Defense, Programs Analysis and Evaluation as a Cost Analyst until 2009. From 2009 to 2015, they worked at the US Navy - Submarine Development Squadron 12 Tactical Analysis Group as the Weapons and Evasion Director. In 2015, they transitioned to Sonalysts, Inc., where they currently hold the position of Vice President, leading a team that provides innovation services.
Robert Hanna obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University from 1988 to 1992. Robert then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College from 2002 to 2003. Later, they completed a Master of Engineering Management degree at Old Dominion University from 2012 to 2014. In addition to these formal degrees, they also underwent training as a Rotary President Elect at an unspecified time.
