Steve Taplin has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1997. Starting at IBM, they held the role of Sales Executive where they sold $230M+ in services and produced multi-million dollar outsourcing projects. In 2003, they became President and CEO of TAPCO Private Equity Firm, a $400M+ private equity firm. During their 13+ year tenure they built, grew, led and exited multi-million dollar technology based investments.
In 2016, they joined IBM again as Vice President of IT Transformation Dealmaker. Steve drove explosive growth and profitability by identifying, cultivating, and overseeing large-scale, long-term outsourcing engagements for IBM’s Global Services business. In 2019, they joined DXC Technology as Vice President of Strategic Pursuits where they led strategic deal teams and managed senior client relationships.
In 2020, Steve Taplin joined the Forbes Technology Council as an Official Member and the Alliance of Chief Executives as an Official Member. Steve also became Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Sonatafy Technology, a premier software services firm. In 2021, they became an Entrepreneur Leadership Network Contributor for Entrepreneur Media.
Steve Taplin has a diverse educational background. Steve received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Management Information Systems from Northern Illinois University in 1997 and a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA in Management Information Systems and Services from Northern Illinois University from 1993 to 1997. In 2000, they completed their Master of Business Administration - MBA in Organizational Leadership from DePaul Driehaus College of Business.
