Hazel D. is an accomplished Data Analyst currently employed at SonderMind since January 2025. Previously, Hazel served as a Junior Data Scientist at CommonLit, contributing to a significant improvement in student reading scores through the analysis of complex data sets. In a prior role as a Data Analyst at Hello Africa, Hazel enhanced user retention by implementing effective tracking of in-app behaviors. Additionally, Hazel gained practical experience as a Data Science Fellow at SharpestMinds, where an end-to-end podcast summarization model was developed, achieving high accuracy and reduced processing time. Earlier teaching experience includes creating curricula for elementary and middle school students at CityScience and assisting at Maimonides Medical Center during clinical training. Hazel holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from New York University and completed a Data Science Bootcamp at Flatiron School.
