Lance Babbit

Lance focuses on Sonen’s multistrategy and public equity strategies. He was previously a Managing Director and the Head of Investments at Flat World Partners, where he oversaw manager due diligence for the firm, with a focus on hedge funds and public market research. Lance has over twenty five years of experience in designing, constructing, and managing hedge fund and liquid alternative portfolios in excess of $6 billion primarily for family offices, foundations, corporate and sovereign pensions, and over $1 billion for retail investors.

Prior to Flat World, Lance spent five years as the Global Head of Portfolio Management for Hedge Funds and Liquid Alternatives at Russell Investments, spent four years as the North American Head of Hedge Fund Portfolios at Credit Suisse and six years as a portfolio manager for Focus Investments and Deutsche Bank. Prior to his investment career, Lance was a corporate lawyer specializing in distressed, initial public and secondary offerings. Lance holds an MBA from New York University, a JD from Fordham University, and a BA from Trinity College.
