Scott Doty

Co-Founder, CIE and President of the Board at Sonic

Scott Doty is the co-founder of CIE and the president of the board at Sonic. Scott has also held volunteer positions at the Children's Museum of Sonoma County and North American Network Operator's Group. Prior to their current positions, Doty worked as a PC/Network Technician and Network Administrator at Santa Rosa Junior College and as a Petty Officer Second Class (Radioman) in the United States Coast Guard. In their free time, they enjoy acting as a Military Affiliate Radio System CHief Operator (MARSCHOP) for USCGC Morgenthau and USCGC Munro and editing ship's newspapers.

Scott Doty first attended Santa Rosa Junior College, where they studied computer science. Scott then joined the United States Coast Guard and attended the Radioman "A" School to learn military telecommunications. After completing their training, they were stationed at the Coast Guard Systems Management School, where they learned about C3/Unisys/Burroughs NGEN clustered computers ("Coast Guard Standard Terminal"). Scott also attended the United States Navy Advanced HF Communications "C" School to learn about advanced telecommunications, including high-frequency radio wave propagation. Lastly, they attended the United States Navy KWR-46/TSEC "C" School to learn about telecommunications cryptographic devices.

Scott Doty reports to Dane Jasper, Co-Founder & CEO . They work with Jacob Burby - Corporate Marketing Communications Manager, Gaby Alves - CFO, and Ashley Wilson - Managing Director.
