Celia Amabile, PhD

Celia Amabile, PhD, has a diverse background in clinical affairs and research, with experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Celia is currently the Head of Clinical Affairs at Sonio, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Clinical Project Manager at Sonio from June 2022 to June 2023.

Before joining Sonio, Celia worked at EOS imaging, where they held various clinical management positions over a five-year period. From October 2021 to May 2022, they were the EOS Solutions Clinical Manager, responsible for coordinating department activities and managing a team of clinical engineers. Additionally, they held the role of Advanced Orthopaedic Solutions Clinical Research Manager from July 2020 to October 2021, where they oversaw clinical strategy and managed a team of clinical research engineers. Prior to that, they served as a Clinical Research Manager and Clinical Studies Engineer, responsible for clinical strategy, KOL relationship management, and implementation of clinical studies.

Celia also has experience outside the medical field, having worked as an Applied Research Engineer at Withings in 2017. In this role, they conducted data analysis of wearable devices and analyzed correlations with health data.

Celia's academic background includes a PhD in Biomechanics from Arts et Métiers ParisTech and the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, where they focused on quantitative analysis and biomechanical modeling of balance alteration during aging. Celia was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for their research and gained expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and medical image analysis.

Furthermore, they conducted a Msc Project at the Bio-engineering Department of Imperial College London, involving motion capture data and finding the center of rotation for the shoulder complex. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London, specializing in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, from 2012 to 2013.
