Jim Brain

Jim Brain is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in information security, enterprise architecture, and IT operations. Currently serving as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Sonoco since April 2021, Jim is focused on enhancing the firm's information security program and advancing its Identity and Access Management and Governance, Risk, Compliance initiatives. Prior roles include Principal Consultant at Brain Innovations, where leadership capability in various IT disciplines was provided, and Vice President of Technology Services at HNI Corporation, where technology platforms and services were integrated to support business solutions. Jim has held key positions at organizations including CNA Surety, AEGON USA, CSG Systems, and Compuware Corporation, demonstrating a strong track record in technology strategy, risk management, and infrastructure design. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
