Michael Erfe

Michael Erfe serves as the Associate General Counsel for Regulatory Compliance at Sonoco since August 2021, successfully implementing Oracle Global Trade Management for free trade agreement qualifications and import/export analytics while leading trade compliance worldwide. Previously, Erfe held the position of Senior Manager at Deloitte from August 2010 to July 2021, providing expertise on international trade issues, including compliance assessments and customs requirements. Earlier experience includes serving as an attorney specializing in International Trade Law at Gonzalez Rolon Valdespino & Rodriguez and as a criminal defense attorney at The Wright Firm, LLP. Before transitioning to private practice, Erfe worked as a prosecutor at the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office. Education includes a JD from The University of Texas School of Law and a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Rice University, alongside studies at Tsinghua University, Bucerius School of Law, and Beijing University.
