Chris Pike is a Principal Research Scientist at Sonos, Inc. since August 2021, previously serving as a Senior Audio Researcher. Between September 2021 and September 2023, Chris held the position of Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Surrey's Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing. Prior experience includes leading the audio research team and the BBC Audio Research Partnership as a Lead R&D Engineer at the BBC from September 2008 to August 2021. Chris also contributed as a Senior Scientist in audio research and as a Research Engineer, focusing on three-dimensional spatial audio systems for broadcasting. From January 2013 to February 2015, Chris chaired the EBU Group on Immersive Audio, representing a significant network of European national broadcasters. Chris holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of York (2012-2019) and a Master of Engineering in Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems from the same institution (2004-2008).
