Ed Johnson is a seasoned engineering professional with over three decades of experience in acoustic and microphone systems. Currently serving as Principal Microphone Systems Engineer at Sonos, Inc. since October 2021, Ed previously held multiple roles at Bose Corporation from June 1989 to October 2021, including Principal Acoustic Engineer, Senior Acoustic Engineer IV, Senior Electrical Engineer IV, and Research Engineer. Notable contributions include research on binaural audio playback techniques, development of the Bose Auditioner Playback system (for which Ed is the sole inventor on a US patent), and the successful production of the Bose AdaptIQ headband, which Ed supported for more than eight years.
