Richard Jackson is a highly experienced technical product manager and software engineer with a strong background in audio technology and embedded systems. Currently serving as the Principal Software Technical Product Manager at Sonos, Inc. since July 2014, Richard has been instrumental in defining technical product requirements for next-generation home theater speaker systems and leading engineering teams to incorporate Amazon and Apple Atmos Music support. Prior to this role, Richard worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bose Corporation from January 2001 to July 2014, focusing on embedded firmware design for audio systems. Earlier in Richard's career, experience as a Software Engineer at Trimble Navigation Ltd involved developing embedded software for portable GPS devices. Richard holds a Bachelor of Engineering with first-class honors in Electrical Engineering from The University of Auckland, completed in 1992.
