Michael Spranger

Michael Spranger currently serves as COO of Sony Research and holds the position of President and COO at SonyAI. Since April 2022, Michael Spranger has also been a Distinguished Engineer at Sony, and has been a Senior Researcher and Senior Program Manager in Machine Intelligence at Sony Computer Science Laboratories Inc. since December 2012. Additionally, Michael Spranger acts as Research Co-Director at ICSL, Bellsystem24, Inc. and previously worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Sony. Michael Spranger's early career includes roles as a Researcher at Sony and Sony CSL Paris, as well as professional freelance work and a student researcher position at Humboldt University Berlin. Michael Spranger holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a German Diplom (Master) in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
