Tim Bird is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in Linux development and open-source contributions. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at Sony Electronics since April 2016, Tim has previously held senior engineering roles at both Sony Mobile Communications and Sony Electronics, focusing on Linux kernel enhancements for mobile products. Prior to Sony, Tim was the Chief Technical Officer at Lineo, where responsibilities included architecture oversight and product design for embedded Linux solutions. Tim's career began at Novell as a Senior Software Engineer, and included roles at Caldera, where contributions were made to the Caldera OpenLinux product. Tim holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
