Michael Stopa

Michael Stopa is an experienced academic and consultant with a robust background in nanotechnology and computational science. Currently serving as the Academic Manager at PlayStation since August 2022, Stopa previously held the position of Senior Project Manager at Konica Minolta, focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning advancements. Earlier roles include Nanotechnology Consultant for the World Technology Evaluation Center, Inc., where Stopa contributed to studies for the National Science Foundation and other governmental organizations, and Senior Computational Scientist at Nantero Inc., developing carbon nanotube-based devices. Stopa also has a strong academic presence, having served as a Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and as Director of the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network Computation Project at Harvard University, where substantial contributions to high-performance computing codes were made. Stopa earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland and multiple Bachelor of Arts degrees in Astronomy from Wesleyan University.
