Rob Johnson

Director, User Research at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Rob Johnson has a diverse background in user research and user experience design. Rob is currently the Director of User Research at Sony Interactive Entertainment, starting in 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe as the Senior Manager of User Research from 2014 to 2022. Before that, they served as a Senior User Experience Researcher at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe from 2012 to 2014. Rob also held the position of Director of User Experience Design at Sparkline Digital for a brief period in 2012. Earlier in their career, Rob was Head of User Experience at one to one interactive from 2010 to 2012, where they managed a team of UX consultants and handled project coordination and account management responsibilities. Rob was a Senior User Experience Consultant at fhios from 2008 to 2010, where they conducted research projects, analyzed findings, and created information architecture. Rob started their career as a Research Consultant at Brunel University from 2004 to 2007.

Rob Johnson received their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Brunel University London, graduating in 2004. Following this, they went on to obtain a PhD in Business Information Systems from the same institution, completing their studies in 2007. In terms of additional certifications, Rob obtained an ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management from Catalyst Learning & Development in November 2015. Most recently, they received the ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management from QA Ltd in July 2021.
