Brian Monaco is the President & Global Chief Marketing Officer at Sony Music Publishing. Prior to Sony, Brian was the EVP, Head of Sales & Strategic Marketing at EMI Music from November 2007 to July 2012.

EMI Music Publishing is one of the world’s leading music publishers with over 1.3 million+ song copyrights in their catalog. They sign some of the best writer-performers in the business including Billy Joel, Arctic Monkeys, Black Eyed Peas, Natasha Bedingfield, James Blunt, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz, Jay-Z, Jewel, Alicia Keys, Beyonce Knowles, Pink, Matchbox 20, Sting, Usher, Kanye West, Drake, Lady Antebellum, Sia, Gaslight Anthem and White Stripes.

In 2012 EMI Music Publishing was acquired by a consortium led by Sony. As part of the acquisition Brian Monaco transitioned to their current role as President & Global Chief Marketing Officer at Sony Music Publishing.

Brian Monaco has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Dayton. Brian also has a high school degree in college prep from St. Anthony's High School. Brian has certification from Sony in antitrust and competition law, preventing workplace harassment, and code of conduct. Brian also has certification from FizzPopBANG Ltd in leadership academy. Brian has certification from ILM in advanced leadership, personal effectiveness, presentation skills, mentoring, sales, negotiations, and project management. Brian also has certification from LifeLabs Learning in unconscious bias and behaviors of inclusive leadership. Finally, they have certification from Sony in preventing workplace harassment (managers).

Brian Monaco reports to Jon Platt, Chairman & CEO. They work with Dana Baxter - SVP, Corporate Communications, Katie Welle - SVP, Creative A&R, and Johnny Tennander - Managing Director, Scandinavia & SVP, A&R Europe.
