John Shier

John Shier is a seasoned security professional with over 20 years of experience in the security industry. Currently serving as Field CISO at Sophos since July 2007, John collaborates with field teams to represent the company at an executive level while conducting research on emerging threats. Prior roles at Sophos include Senior Security Advisor and Channel SE for North America, focusing on technical enablement and sales engagements. John began his career as a Security Analyst at Gibraltar Solutions Inc and as an Internet Security Analyst at RBC, where responsibilities included implementing secure architectures and managing global network security. John studied at Western University from 1995 to 1997.
