Maxim Weinstein has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Maxim began their career as a Technical Training Specialist at Productivity Point International in 1998. Maxim then moved on to become a Network Administrator at Arrowstreet Capital in 2001. In 2003, they joined Year Up where they held various roles including National Technology Director, Site Leader, IT Curriculum Coordinator, and Learning Director. In 2007, Weinstein became the Manager of StopBadware.org at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society, Harvard University. After three years, they became the Executive Director at StopBadware in 2010. In 2013, Maxim joined Sophos as a Senior Product Marketing Manager, and later became the VP of Market Intelligence.

Maxim Weinstein attended Tufts University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Quantitative Economics and Environmental Studies. In 1996, they also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Math Education (grades 9-12) from Tufts University. Prior to attending college, they completed their high school education at Hunterdon Central Regional High School. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC(2) in November 2013, the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC in September 2005, the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in Windows 2000 from Microsoft in an unknown month in 2001, and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in Windows NT 4.0 from Microsoft in an unknown year in 1998.
