Simon Porter

Simon Porter is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat research and analysis. Currently serving as Principal Threat Researcher at Sophos since August 2016, Simon has contributed significantly to the SophosLabs Generic Detection Team. Prior to this role, Simon held various positions at Symantec from November 2008 to May 2016, including Sr. Principal Threat Analysis Engineer and Team Leader for the Symantec.cloud Research & Response team. Simon's earlier career includes roles at MessageLabs from April 2004 to November 2008, where responsibilities ranged from Malware Analyst to Technical Lead in Anti-Virus Operations, and a foundational role in technical support at Fasthosts Internet Ltd from January 2003 to April 2004.
