Bob Wilkinson has had a long and varied career in the software engineering industry. Bob began their career in 1986 as a Research Assistant/Associate for N.A. Software / Centre for Mathematical Software Research. In 1994, they moved to Pindar Infotek as a Programmer, where they wrote code in Perl to convert data from a variety of formats to SGML. Bob then joined AL Digital in 1999 as a Senior Programmer, leading a small team to develop the back end of applications in Perl. In 2002, they moved to MessageLabs as a Software Engineer, where they wrote software to scan emails for viruses. In 2008, they joined Symantec as a Software Engineer, continuing to work in the AntiVirus team. In 2020, they moved to SG - Digital as a Software Engineer, working on web applications written mainly in TCL. In 2021, they joined People's Momentum as a Senior Digital Officer, working with a managed PostgreSQL database with many records. Bob is currently employed at SoPost as an Engineer, developing software written in Elixir and running under Phoenix.
Bob Wilkinson received their Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Leeds between 1979 and 1982. Bob then went on to the University of Liverpool, where they obtained an M.Sc. in Software Engineering between 1986 and 1991.
