Simon Heath

Simon Heath is an experienced IT professional with a strong focus on SQL database administration and directory services. Currently serving as Lead SQL DBA and Directory Services Team Lead at Sopra Steria since July 2018, Simon is responsible for the management of the desktop and messaging SQL estate and mentoring junior DBA staff. Prior experience includes a role as Senior SQL Server DBA at Nationwide Building Society, where Simon led design and architecture projects, and over 16 years at Fasthosts Internet Limited, managing a substantial number of SQL servers and handling tasks such as performance tuning, disaster recovery, and training. Earlier career roles included providing technical support at MessageLabs and Computer Centre, along with a foundational role as a Supply & Movements Operator in the Royal Air Force, where Simon contributed to the implementation of a new computer stock control system.
