John Maher

John Maher is an experienced professional in the art field, currently serving as the AVP, Specialist & Head of Research for Prints & Multiples at Sotheby's since November 2016. Prior roles at Sotheby's include Specialist and Associate Specialist in the same department. Prior to Sotheby's, John Maher worked at LOFTY as Head of Consignments and Specialist, as well as Evaluations Associate. Experience also includes working as an English Teaching Assistant with The Fulbright Program and serving as a Teaching Assistant for Art History at Williams College, where responsibilities included enhancing students' writing proficiency and conducting workshops. Earlier internships include time at McCann Erickson, focusing on competitive analysis for General Motors, and managing a new branch of the Ivy Insiders SAT Prep program. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and German from Williams College, complemented by an ongoing program with IES Abroad in Berlin.
