Michael Maiola is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various legal capacities. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at SOTI since February 2021, Michael previously held the position of Legal Counsel at Shopify from 2019 to 2020, as well as at Desjardins General Insurance Group from January 2016 to March 2019. Michael's experience also includes roles as Underwriting Counsel at DAS Legal Protection Inc. in 2019 and Legal Counsel at State Farm® from September 2014 to December 2015. Early in the career, Michael gained valuable insights as an Articling Student at Gluckstein Personal Injury Lawyers and as a Summer Law Student at DioGuardi Tax Law. Michael holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Western University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Sociology (Crime, Law, and Deviance) from the University of Toronto.
