Ron Bates

Ron Bates has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Ron started their career in 1989 as a Graphics supervisor at US West Direct in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1994, they became a Partner at Graphics 4 Design Studio, a full-service design firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ron then transitioned to the role of Assistant Publisher at Sound Publishing in 2000, where they served until 2010. During this time, they also worked as the Assistant Publisher & Advertising Director at Sound Publishing's Journal of the San Juan Islands subsidiary from 1999. Ron Bates also had a brief entrepreneurial experience as the owner of Mosquito Fleet Mercantile, a store located in Friday Harbor, Washington, in 2007. Currently, Ron Bates is the General Manager at Best Western Friday Harbor Suites, a position they have held since 2010.
