Sergey Chekanskiy

Sergey Chekanskiy is a seasoned data engineering and science professional with extensive experience spanning various leadership roles across prominent companies. Currently, Sergey serves as the Director of Data Engineering at SoundCloud, previously holding the position of Engineering Manager for the Data Platform. Prior to SoundCloud, Sergey was the Head of Data at Wunder Mobility, focusing on geospatial demand forecasting and vehicle location optimization for mobility services. At StyleLounge, as Chief Data Officer, Sergey led a team to enhance business intelligence capabilities and achieved significant improvements in marketing automation and return on ad spend. Sergey’s earlier career included significant roles at Qiwi and Plati Potom LLC, where various sophisticated data models and algorithms were developed to enhance credit scoring and fraud detection. Sergey began a professional journey in auditing at Ernst & Young and holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Technology and Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
