Alec Smith began their work experience in 2011 as a Post-doctoral research associate at the University of Central Florida. Alec conducted research projects and taught laboratory protocols to students. During this time, they also gained experience in grant writing and scientific research article writing. In 2014, Alec joined the University of Washington as a Senior Fellow and later transitioned to the role of Acting Instructor in 2017. Alec became a Research Assistant Professor in July 2021. Additionally, Alec has served as a Scientific Board Member for Curi Bio since March 2017 and is also a Co-Founder and Scientific Board Member for SoundEats since May 2022.
Alec Smith completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General at Imperial College London from 2003 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Tissue Engineering at UCL, where they studied from 2008 to 2012.
