Tim Dadson

General Counsel at SoundExchange

Tim Dadson oversees all legal functions at SoundExchange, including regulatory issues, enforcement programs, rate proceedings, corporate governance and compliance. In this role he serves as a key leader in the company’s efforts to ensure that all creators get paid fully and fairly regardless of music platform.

During his decade at the company, Dadson has led key initiatives, including the formation of SoundExchange’s political action committee, Music Speaks, and the Mediation program, which assists artists in resolving royalty disputes.

Prior to joining SoundExchange, Dadson served as assistant general counsel of the Washington Commanders and senior counsel of Software AG/webMethods, Inc. He began his career at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Sidley Austin.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
