James I. has a diverse work experience across various industries. James started their career in 2014 as a Research Assistant at Motivaction International, where they worked until 2016. Following this, they served as a Defense Department Research Intern at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the United States from August 2016 to February 2017. In 2020, James joined Corsearch as an Intelligence Analyst, and they held this role until February 2023. Currently, they are working at Source.ag as a Product Analyst, starting in February 2023.

James I began their education at Christelijk Gymnasium Utrecht in 2006, where they pursued a VWO degree in Direction Humanities & Social Sciences. After completing their VWO degree in 2012, James I enrolled at the University of Amsterdam to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in New Media, which they completed in 2016. During their time at the University of Amsterdam, James I also attended the Ad de Jonge Center for Intelligence and Security Studies from 2015 to 2016 to obtain a minor degree in Intelligence Studies.

In 2017, James I expanded their academic pursuits by enrolling at Leiden University to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Public Administration. However, they only attended Leiden University for one year before transferring to the University of Amsterdam once again, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in New Media & Digital Culture in 2019.

In addition to their formal education, James I also obtained a certification in Terrorism and Counterterrorism: Comparing Theory and Practice from Coursera Course Certificates in May 2016. No other information regarding their educational background is provided.
