Oliver Swope is a DNA Scientist II at Source BioScience, where responsibilities include long-read sequencing using Oxford Nanopore technology and providing customer technical support. Previously, as a DNA Scientist I, Oliver processed customer NGS projects, conducted sample quality control, and operated Illumina NGS instruments. Oliver's academic background includes an Integrated Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Sussex, where work involved mapping the population of Myotis bechsteinii through SNPs in lower-quality DNA samples using next-generation sequencing. Additionally, Oliver gained experience as a Student Ambassador and worked as a Junior Research Associate under the supervision of Tony Carr and Fiona Matthews. Prior to entering the scientific field, Oliver was employed as a Store Assistant at Co-op.
