Source Material is a visual research studio and creative consultancy.

Source material is the foundation; where artists, designers, writers and researchers draw from to inspire, contextualise, interrogate and evolve meaning. Source material is imagery, language or data. It is photographs, artworks, texts, documents, films, clips, sketches, silhouettes, maps, graphs, maquettes, models, notes on a napkin. It is the root of all creative and critical processes.

Source material is a point of departure. It is an invitation to build, reframe, reinterpret and activate. It enables the conception of new ideas, new perspectives, new worlds.

Our work traverses advertising, fashion, film, publishing and beyond. We operate at the intersection of celebration and critique - where form aligns seamlessly with function and images pose questions as readily as they provide answers. Our expertise lies in crafting visual narratives that resonate in an era where images are both abundant and disposable. We collaborate with brands, creative businesses, cultural institutions and artists to develop their unique visual expression. We both source and create visual communications.
