Christa Desir is an accomplished Editorial Director at Bloom Books with a robust background in the publishing industry, currently serving at Sourcebooks since January 2020. As the founder of Tessera Editorial, Christa has established a mentorship program for POC aspiring editors, aiming to diversify the publishing landscape. With a substantial portfolio, Christa has authored five Young Adult novels and previously worked as an instructor for UCLA Extension's Publishing Certification Program. Experience as a freelance editor covers multiple genres and includes collaborations with renowned publishers such as St. Martin’s Press and Macmillan Children’s Publishing. Christa's earlier roles include acquiring editor at Samhain Publishing and business manager positions in various organizations. A graduate of Grinnell College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Christa brings a wealth of expertise and advocacy for inclusivity in literary spaces.
