Tara Rayers

Tara Rayers is an accomplished professional in the publishing and education sectors, currently serving as an Acquisitions Editorial Trainee at Sourcebooks since May 2021. Notable achievements include guiding a book from an emerging BIPOC author through the entire acquisitions process and writing live copy for the acquired book. Previous experience includes evaluating manuscripts for the LitUp partnership between We Need Diverse Books and Hello Sunshine, mentoring in the RevPit writing competition, and creating reader's reports and developmental edits at Tessera Editorial. Tara has also demonstrated educational expertise as an English Language Arts Teacher at Aki Kurose Middle School and has held various roles in program management and tutoring. Educational background includes a Master’s Degree in English: Rhetoric Writing and Linguistics from the University of Tennessee and dual Bachelor's Degrees in English Literature and Sociology from Louisiana State University.
