Paul McCarty

Paul McCarty is an experienced security researcher and trainer currently working at SourceCodeRED since July 2024, specializing in software supply chain security. As an organizer for the upcoming BSides Gold Coast event in November 2024 and as a Gold Coast SecTalks organizer, McCarty actively contributes to the cybersecurity community. With over 30 years of experience, McCarty serves as an advisor for startups in highly regulated industries and mentors founders at Something Real Ventures, guiding them through various challenges in product design and security. Previously, McCarty founded SecureStack, a pioneering company in application security posture management, and held significant roles at GitLab, Queensland Treasury, and QTAC, focusing on DevOps and cloud security initiatives. Education includes studies at Wayne State University and Cass Technical High School.
