South-North Scholars is the youth-led knowledge network on global sustainable development. We convene 3,000+ young leaders in 120+ countries who collaborate on research and innovation with experts at the United Nations, leading universities like Duke and Oxford, and other global institutions.

Some of our global initiatives: 

1. We launched Solving for Humanity (solvingforhumanity.org), the world's largest youth-led innovation challenge for sustainable development, with experts at the United Nations Development Programme. We convened multicultural teams of youth in 120 countries with experts from the UN, Duke, Oxford, McKinsey & Co., and other global firms. These youth teams created innovative, evidence-based policy solutions presented to senior UN experts. For our work, we were recognized in the flagship United Nations Human Development Report 2023/24.

2. With the International Public Policy Association (ippapublicpolicy.org), we are pleased to co-organize Global South Paradigms, the only academic conference dedicated to innovations in Global South research that is entirely run by and for early career scholars. This research community has brought together scholars in 20+ countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

3. Advised by faculty and scholars at leading universities like Duke and Harvard, we host Nexus: The Global South Journal (nexusglobalsouth.org), the only student-led peer-reviewed academic journal focused on Global South research. We publish in print and online across two continents.

4. We are at the forefront of youth-led efforts to diversify and renew the global research agenda on innovation and sustainable development. We've worked with faculty at Duke University and other leading research institutions to translate their research into accessible summaries for policymakers.
