David Clift has extensive work experience in the mining and resources industry. David began their career as a Process Engineer at Renison Goldfields Consolidated in 1995 and then worked as a Metallurgy Manager at PT Koba Tin from 2000 to 2002. In 2003, Clift joined Iluka Resources as a Principal Process Engineer before moving to Alcoa as a Production Superintendent from 2006 to 2007. Clift then joined BHP Billiton, where they held various roles including Manager Investments & Valuations, Project Manager - Mining Tax, and Manager Market Analysis. David worked at BHP Billiton from 2007 to 2015. Since 2015, Clift has been working at South32, initially as the General Manager Technical Marketing and Commodity Analysis and currently as the Vice President Technical Marketing and Market Analysis.
David Clift completed their education at Geraldton Senior High School from 1986 to 1990, earning a High School diploma. David then attended Curtin University from 1991 to 1994, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Later, from 2004 to 2006, David pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at The University of Western Australia.
