Practice Lead Mining Technology at South32

Jayde Webb has extensive work experience in the mining industry. Jayde is currently serving as the Practice Lead Mining Technology at South32, where they focus on driving the application of mining technology to accelerate project development and improve safety, productivity, and company returns. Prior to this, Jayde worked as a Senior Estimating Engineer at Byrnecut Offshore Pty Ltd, where they handled contract tendering, estimating, negotiation, and feasibility consulting for international projects. Jayde also served as an Underground Manager (Unit Manager: Mining) at Gold Fields Ltd., overseeing safe production and development activities while ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities. Before that, Jayde worked as the Chief Mining Engineer / Alternate Mining Manager at African Barrick Gold, where they were responsible for budget preparation, development of mine engineering systems, and management of capital and improvement projects.

Jayde Webb obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) with Honours from the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) from 1997 to 2000. In 2006, Jayde also obtained a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency from the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety in Western Australia. Later, from 2019 to 2023, Jayde pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Curtin University.
