Julius Thomas

Julius Thomas possesses extensive experience in the mining and metals industry, currently serving as the General Manager of Worsley Refinery at South32 since September 2012. Prior roles within South32 include Maintenance Manager at both Worsley Refinery and Hillside Aluminium, as well as Production Execution Superintendent at Hillside Aluminium. Prior to joining South32, Julius held various positions at BHP from September 2006 to August 2012, including Engineering Superintendent and Maintenance Superintendent. Career beginnings took place at AECI Mining from July 2000 to August 2006, where roles included Team Manager for Shocktube and Section Manager for Fuse and Ignitor Cord. Julius holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Africa, along with several certificates related to explosives technology and engineering.
